Residential Organics Collection

Organic waste has been banned from disposal in Nova Scotia since 1998. If you do not have access to organics collection you are required to Backyard Compost.

Antigonish Town Residential Collection

Residential organics collection is available to residents that live in a residential building, including apartment buildings with four units or less. However it excludes all properties in the commercial zone along all residential buildings along Main Street and James Street. Units with more than four residential apartment, in the commercial zone and all other commercial and institution properties are responsible to make arrangements for collection. The organics green cart is collected weekly for 12 weeks during the summer, then alternating weeks for the rest of the year. Antigonish County Residential Collection

Residential organics collection is available throughout the municipality including cottage country. The carts are collected weekly. The organic waste collected is composted at the Beech Hill Waste Management Facility.

Municipality of the District of Guysborough Residential Collection

Residential properties in the municipality received a green cart June 2013. The carts are collected weekly. The organic waste collected is composted at the Guysborough Waste Management Facility. Town of Mulgrave Residential Collection

Residential properties and others that receive curbside collection in the Town received a green cart September 2016. The carts are collected weekly in the Town by the Municipality of the District of Guysborough. The organics collected are composted at the Guysborough Waste Management Composting Facility.
