On-road passenger vehicle tires are no longer accepted at the GFL landfill in Guysborough. To help you with recycling your tires, Divert NS has released a 2026 Tire Remitters Registry document. This registry includes a list of provincially-registered businesses that offer a place for you to drop-off tires that meet the below requirements:
- Tires have a rim size of 24.5” (inches) or less
- Rims have been removed from the tires
- Tires are clean of mud or other types of debris
- 4 or less tires are dropped off
The available locations are in Antigonish, Port Hawkesbury, Mulgrave, and Sherbrooke. The tire remitters in these areas will accept your tires at no charge for dropping them off.
